This is an available service to assure that the family pet has high quality nutrition for their daily sustainability. Enrollees must apply each month that the service is needed. Every pet in the household should be spayed/neutered/vaccinated or enrolled in our program to receive services.
Must be at least 18 years of age to apply
Only the applicant can pick up requested pet supplies
We DO NOT offer delivery service.
Multiple requests for supplies from the same household will not be honored
Residents attempting to acquire more supplies that what has been issued per household will be permanently banned from the pantry
Residents may NOT add new animals to their food request. Exception: pregnant females
If the resident has a pregnant female in their care, they must indicate that information during the application process.
The pantry is not in a position to feed littering animals, as works against our goal to stop pet overpopulation in the City of Gary, and surrounding communities.
Any participant that pre-registers for pet food, but fails to show up at least two consecutive months will be restricted from future registrations.
The Gary Pet Food Pantry is designed to be a temporary support system for pet parents in need. It is NOT designed to sustain animals for duration of their life.
Any resident that is rude, disrespectful or disruptive with our volunteers will be permanent banned from the pantry.
Emergency Medical Care:
In the past we were able to offer emergency medical care for a limited number of Gary residents. The number of requests and the dollar amounts needed for services quickly depleted the available funds. However, the need for support has not stopped. Cause 4Paws Gary has located a resource that can help all residents with emergency care up to $3000, offers 24/7 live vet chats and more. For details click the link to Pawp. Pawp is an independent service that requires a $19.00 a month membership. See there website for details Pawp
