Hello! I’m Michelle Robinson, proud owner of Clean Paws Mobile Grooming Salon and Founder of 4Paws Gary, Inc. Thanks to the amazing support of our community, we secured our 501(c)(3) nonprofit status in 2016. After four years of planning, we’re now just awaiting City approval for a land lease in Gary—a step that will help us create a more pet-friendly city and bring affordable services to local residents.
Since launching The Gary Pet Food Pantry in February 2017, we’ve distributed more than 375,000 pounds of pet supplies, directly supporting 1,850 low-income pet owners across Lake County, Indiana. In 2018 alone, we offered life-saving services for 244 cats and 13 dogs. Our all-volunteer team has gone above and beyond—providing free heartworm testing for dogs and supplying low-cost preventative treatments, thanks in part to a generous $5,000 grant from #MaddiesFund.
In 2021, we teamed up with @PetcoLove to give out 1,958 free vaccines against canine distemper/parvo and feline distemper. We also partnered with @PublicVet for affordable cat spay/neuter clinics, saving 659 feline lives, and have heard the community’s call for similar dog services. In 2026, meeting this need and helping prevent pet overpopulation will be a top priority for us.
Our mission: Ensure every pet in our community has access to affordable, responsible care—keeping pets healthy, families together, and making Lake County a place where animals and humans thrive.

Our mission is to support pet parents in underserved communities with affordable pet services needed to help keep pets and people together and strengthen the animal-human bond. With your help, we can keep programs going that are vital to our community.
Spay/neuter assistance- helps to keep unwanted littering down, and save female pets from pyometra which curbs overpopulation in the community.
Gary Dog Park- Helps to strengthen the animal-human bond, promote healthy socialization, and curb negative behavior caused by anxiety.
The Gary Pet Food Pantry provides temporary pet food support such as dog food, cat food, and cat litter to low-income families in need to help prevent pet surrender
Have-A-Heart is a heartworm testing and treatment program for low-income pet parents whose pets have never been tested for heartworms.
General- Supports costs like truck and storage rental, office supplies, website operation, and postage.
