Hello! I’m Michelle Robinson, proud owner of Clean Paws Mobile Grooming Salon and Founder Cause of 4Paws Gary, Inc. Thanks to the amazing support of our community, we secured our 501(c)(3) nonprofit status in 2016. After four years of planning, we’re now just awaiting City approval for a land lease in Gary—a step that will help us create a more pet-friendly city and bring affordable services to local residents.
Since launching The Gary Pet Food Pantry in February 2017, we’ve distributed more than 405,000 pounds of pet supplies, directly supporting 1,850 low-income pet owners across Lake County, Indiana. In 2018 alone, we offered life-saving services for 244 cats and 13 dogs. Our all-volunteer team has gone above and beyond—providing free heartworm testing for dogs and supplying low-cost preventative treatments, thanks in part to a generous $5,000 grant from #MaddiesFund.
In 2021, we teamed up with @PetcoLove to give out 2.889 free vaccines against canine distemper/parvo and feline distemper. We also partnered with @PublicVet for affordable cat spay/neuter clinics, saving 873 feline lives, and have heard the community’s call for similar dog services. In 2026, meeting this need and helping prevent pet overpopulation will be a top priority for us.
Our mission: Ensure every pet in our community has access to affordable, responsible care—keeping pets healthy, families together, and making Lake County a place where animals and humans thrive.
We appreciate everyone that supports Cause 4Paws Gary! Corporate employees can add our name to their matching giving programs with your HR Department. Most corporations will match watch you give dollar for dollar.

Help Keep Pets Fed and Families Together 2026 has been a particularly difficult year for families and pets in our community. Back-to-back tornadoes, rising prices, and ongoing financial hardship have forced many pet parents into impossible decisions. Some have had to seek emergency shelter where pets are not allowed. Others are struggling to feed themselves while trying to keep food in their pets’ bowls. Cause 4Paws Gary’s pet food pantry has been stretched to capacity as more families turn to us for help. For a pet parent in crisis, a bag of pet food is more than a donation—it is the support that helps them keep their beloved dog or cat safely at home rather than face surrender, abandonment, or separation. With your help, pets can continue to count on their families, and families can count on Cause 4Paws Gary when times are hardest. Every bag of dog food, cat food, cat litter, and monetary donation helps ensure there is a full bowl waiting for a pet parent in need. Please donate today to help keep a pet’s food bowl full and keep families together. Your gift, in any amount, provides essential supplies for pets whose families are doing everything they can to care for them. To make your donation, please see the link below. Together, we can make sure no pet goes hungry or loses their home because their family is facing a difficult season.
